Antarctica Tinkering

Today we compared the weather in Antartica to the weather in Queenstown.

It was -44 degrees in Antarctica today!!!! Wow!

We learnt about wind, pressure, and precipitation and made some components of a weather station to measure these things.

  1. I didn't know that the piece of equipment that measures wind is called an 'anememeter'. What an amazing word! If you guys are looking at animals in Antarctica, you might like to watch this short video that Miss Tamsin told me about (though I should warn you that it's not good news for the penguins):
